In the rural corners of Tottori, Japan’s least populous prefecture, misty green forests and mountain ranges are dotted with clearings where centuries-old family farms have taken root. Here, down a tree-lined road, is Paradise Park, a farm and gathering place run by the Fujita family for generations.

Amid the farm’s hoop houses, rolling fields, and wood cabin built meticulously by hand, the Fujitas asked, How can we greenroof even better? The family designed and hand made a proprietary solution: a lightweight, portable greenroof bag that could nurture plants with ease.

The FTM bag was designed with care as a way to make the family’s busy growing season seamless. Today, it’s used on greenroofs around the world - and now it’s available to U.S. customers through a unique cross-cultural collaboration with Tozai Exports and GROW Externships. Tozai Exports, a Japan-based company, manages the Fujita Company’s global sales, and GROW Externships trains young environmental professionals using the bags for sustainability projects in the U.S. and abroad. Now greenroofs across the U.S. can benefit from the bags’ one-of-a-kind convenience and quality craftsmanship.
